About
The Seyahat project is a fully volunteer project with no internal or external funding and is currently being solely developed by Tyler Kynn (PhD). Tyler is an Assistant Professor in the History Department at Central Connecticut State University with a PhD in History from Yale University, a MA in History from Central European University, and a BA in History from the University of Minnesota.
Tyler’s research primarily focuses on the hajj pilgrimage in the early modern Ottoman world and from his dissertation he co-developed The Hajj Trail with Russ Gasdia (Phd).
The spiritual sequel, Seyahat: A Journey to Mecca, takes the core research from The Hajj Trail and visualizes it into an artistic style inspired by Ottoman painting. This project is being built in the Unity Game Engine with Inky for the dialogue system and Inkscape for artwork. The game is currently in early access on Steam and each chapter in the game will be released once it is completed.
The game is designed to always be freely available with educational use in mind.
